Our Mission

To enrich our physical and mental well-being and promote women’s health, fitness and community through recreational and competitive cycling.

The club is open to all female-identified riders who share a passion for riding a bike. To support a more equitable cycling community, this team welcomes riders of all races, ethnicities, sexualities and gender identities. We support riders who want to race as well as recreational riders who want to ride on a regular basis.

Every Saturday we ride 30-40 miles. The pace generally hovers in the 14-19 mph range, faster than a recreational cruise, but almost always conversational pace. Be prepared for both hills and flats and to spin consistently for 2-3 hours at a time without stopping. Always eat breakfast before you ride – bonking is just no fun!

We leave at 9 am from River City Bicycles every Saturday (except when there is snow, ice or other severe winter conditions) and aim to be back to RCB before noon. No promises, though, as this is a no-drop ride, and the group will stop to fix flats, take a bathroom break, and re-group at major turns on the route.

Cycling helmet required. We will assist you with flat tires that occur on route but here’s what you should carry:

  • Spare inner tube (or 2)
  • Flat tire repair tools
  • CO2 cartridge or air pump
  • Bring bars, gels and other snacks to refuel on the ride
  • Always bring water — if it’s hot bring two bottles!
  • During rain or winter weather, please use winter tires, fenders, or a buddy flap.

Parking: if you are driving to River City Bicycles, they ask that you park on the street rather than in their parking lot. There is ample parking under the Morrison Bridge.
NOTE: River City Bicycles opens at 10 am on Saturdays, after we depart, but there are free espresso drinks and hot/cold chocolate milk waiting for you at the end of the ride!
